Bible Study Groups

Unless otherwise noted, all groups are open to the public and accepting new members. Contact WSJL or the facilitator of the group you're interested in.

Michael Katzoff and David Amrani, facilitators. This group will read and discuss How to Read the Bible by James Kugel over the course of the project's two-year time frame. Meetings are every 3-4 weeks at members' homes in the Glendale area. New members are welcome.
Samara Sofian, facilitator. Group meets monthly on Tuesdays, 7:00-8:15 PM at Congregation Beth Israel. Primarily for CBI members, but anyone is welcome.
Dr. Sherry Blumberg, facilitator. Women's Study Group meets at Congregation Sinai in Fox Point, Friday mornings at 9:30. The group is using The Torah, A Woman's Torah Commentary as their major text and often looks at women's issues and midrash in addition to seeing the Torah through multiple perspectives. There is an $18.00 charge for non-Sinai members. (women only)

  - Dec. 24 - after dinner.
  - Jan. 21 - after Tu B'Shvat seder and vegetarian dinner.
- Poetry in the Bible
  - February 12 - after kiddush lunch.
  - March 5 - after dinner.
- Friday night dinners are optional. Call 962-5508 for dinner reservations ($10/adults, $5.00/children, $30 max/family.)
- Shavuot, Tuesday evening, June 7th - traditional diary dinner and ice cream dessert followed by late-night learning.
Rabbi Marty Adelman, facilitator. Group meets at Beth Israel Sinai Congregation in Racine on Saturday mornings as they finish the Oneg Shabbat. The group is reading through the entire Tanach. New members are welcome at any time.
Rabbi Steve Adams, facilitator. Group meets at Chai Point. Call for details.
Rabbi Steve Adams, facilitator. Group meets at Congregation Emanuel of Waukesha. Call for details.
Moshe Katz, facilitator. Private group for Milwaukee Jewish Day School staff only, meets weekly to discuss the Torah portion.
