2010 Annual Meeting

Featured speaker

Milwaukee native Linda Frank, author of the recently released novel After the Auction, will be the featured speaker at the Wisconsin Society for Jewish Learning's annual meeting.

The novel, Frank's first, tells the story of a Jewish woman's quest to recover an antique Passover seder plate, owned by her family, that had been stolen by the Nazis.

Set in the 1990s, the novel involves historical topics such as Nazi art looting, the Kindertransport (the effort to rescue Jewish children before the war), the Jewish refugee group in Shanghai, and Israel's struggle for statehood.

After the Auction has received overwhelmingly favorable reader reviews on Amazon.com and elsewhere.
